Description:

Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan culture, ca. 1200 to 600 BCE. A cast-bronze short sword exhibiting an elongated petaloid profile with sharpened edges and a pointed tip. Both sides of the blade are decorated with raised bands forming a narrow triple fuller along the bottom half that gradually decreases to a double fuller moving towards the tip. The slender tang is perforated near the tip for attaching handle panels, and the entire weapon is enveloped with age-commensurate patina. Size: 17.3" L x 2.7" W (43.9 cm x 6.9 cm)
