Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan culture, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A beautiful bronze dagger presenting a petaloid body and a tubular hilt that widens at its circular base. The rounded blade features a high central ridge on both faces and a sharp edge. Enveloped in seafoam green patina, this lovely weapon is decoratively incised with a triangular motif at the base of its blade, as well as horizontal bands and a zigzag pattern at the top and bottom of its hilt. Size: 8.3" L x 1.125" W (21.1 cm x 2.9 cm)
