Description:

Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A bronze socketed axe head presenting a crested back ridge, a circular socketing hole with a petite protrusion on the ends of the upper and lower spines, a slender neck, and a curved blade edge with an extended beard. A pair of incised horizontal striations adorn the exterior of the socket. Thick green patina has formed due to age, and the degree of preservation is admirable. Size: 5.1" L x 1.3" W x 2.6" H (13 cm x 3.3 cm x 6.6 cm)
