Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran and southeastern Turkey, Luristan culture, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A fine gathering of 2 artifacts from ancient Luristan. First is a cast leaded-brass finial in the shape of a rooster with a massive tail and a petite beak. Next is a cast leaded-bronze horse harness ring with a protruding button on the verso and a stylized ram head emanating from atop the front. Both pieces are covered in thick layers of green and brown patina. Size of largest (harness ring): 1.7" L x 1.375" W (4.3 cm x 3.5 cm)

Provenance: private Eagle, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1990s
