Rome, Imperial Period, 1st to 4th century CE. A pretty cast bronze silvered fibula in the form of a horse, shown in profile in a lively running pose, wearing a saddle. The horse was hugely important in Roman life, both for hunting, racing, and martial uses. Size: 1.4" L x 1" H (3.6 cm x 2.5 cm)
