Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. Two bracelets made from thick cylinders of bronze cast into circles with about a quarter of their length overlapping. The patina here has a blue tinge to it, indicating a high level of tin in the alloy. The region of Luristan, which encompasses the rugged Zagros Mountain chain, is famous for its bronze work that was above and beyond the skill level of contemporary groups. Both bracelet is wearable for a small to medium wrist. Size of largest: 3.25" W (8.3 cm)
