Description:

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, 18th to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1549 to 664 BCE. A fine collection of nine hand-blown miniature opaque glass items with vibrant colors in cobalt, turquoise, jet, emerald, carnelian, pearl, and golden hues. Seven of the pieces are laterally-pierced beads of which four are ovoid and tubular, two are fish, and the smallest vaguely resembles a hedgehog. The remaining two items are alabastron-shaped ear studs, one boasting vibrant turquoise colors and a black-and-white rim, and the other with a swirled blue-and-white body with pale red glass ringing the top and bottom rims. A fabulous ensemble of fine glass-working artistry! Size of largest (blue-and-white ear stud): 0.625" W x 1.3" H (1.6 cm x 3.3 cm).
