Pre-Columbian, Border area between Panama & Costa Rica (Diquis zone), Chirique Phase, ca. 1000-1500 CE. This ensemble of Chiriqui ollas is aesthetically appealing for the striking volumetric forms and rich bichrome and polychrome surfaces slip painted in red and cream with some examples also showing black striated designs and the handled example features an elegant charcoal black smoke cloud. 6-1/2"T x 5-3/4"D at widest (largest olla); 3-1/2"T x 5-3/4"D at widest (olla with handles); 3-1/2"T x 4"D at widest; 3-1/2"T x 3-1/4"W; 3-1/4"T x 3-1/4"W; 2-3/4"T x 3 -1/4"W; 2-3/4"T x 3-1/4"W.   • Condition: Largest olla has stable pressure crack and repairs to neck/rim. Olla with handles shows some surface wear, else intact and excellent. Three of smaller ollas are intact and near choice save for minor surface wear. Two show some pressure cracks - one nearly invisible the other with repair.
