Roman, late Republic to Imperial Period, ca. 1st century BCE to 3rd century CE. A set of 6 mold-formed pottery oil lamps, each with a unique form. The largest redware lamp features a portrait of a Roman deity, perhaps the sun god Sol, and another oil lamp exhibits a right-facing zoomorph in a lunging pose, perhaps a deer or dog. Size: 4.68" L x 3.15" W x 2.01" H (11.9 cm x 8 cm x 5.1 cm)
Provenance: private Bell Buckle, Tennessee, USA collection, by descent, acquired in Tunisia before 1969

- Condition: One lamp with loss to area of side wall, and another lamp with loss to handle; remaining 4 lamps are intact. Each with abrasions, nicks, and earthen deposits commensurate with age, with softening to decorations, otherwise in nice condition.
