Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan area, Tarascan culture, ca. 1200 to 1524 CE. A collection of six shell beads, each with a long, rectangular form, with the sides pierced laterally to be worn as jewelry or sewn onto clothing. All have great archaeological surfaces. Size of longest: 0.55" W x 3.85" H (1.4 cm x 9.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-private collection of the late Father Bader, University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas, USA; exhibited in the University of St. Thomas Art Gallery, acquired prior to 2000
