Northern Europe, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 8th to 11th century CE. A lovely group of five bracelets formed from rods or sheets of either bronze or brass. The bronze bracelets consist of a solid rod-form bracelet with flattened terminals, a flattened band with elaborately-impressed foliate motifs covered in sumptuous azurite patina, and a braided bracelet woven from a single elongated strip. Both brass bracelets have flattened bodies, one with flattened rectangular terminals, and one with tapering conical terminals. Size of largest (flattened terminals): 3" W x 2.3" H (7.6 cm x 5.8 cm).

  • Condition: Repair to one arm of brass bracelet with rectangular terminals. All bracelets have slight bending to overall form, fading to impressed details where applicable, and light encrustations. Light earthen deposits and great green and brown patina throughout. One bronze bracelet with lovely azurite patina.
