Pre-Columbian, Peru, Salinar culture, ca. 300 BCE to 200 CE. A fine gathering of 5 petite personal ornaments formed from strips or sheets of 60 to 90% gold (equivalent to 14K+ to 21K+ gold). Three ornaments have a crescent shape with pointed terminals, with one exhibiting a smaller concentric ring along the interior, and one with two interior strands which terminate in tight spirals. A fourth ornament depicts an abstract avian figure with a petite head and a wide body boasting four projecting corners. The smallest ornament has a pair of large spiraled terminals formed from a thick, singular strip. Size of largest (crescent w/ spirals): 0.9" W x 0.75" H (2.3 cm x 1.9 cm); quality of gold: 60 to 90% (equivalent to 14K+ to 21K+); total weight: 3.9 grams.
