Description:

**Originally Listed At $500**

Northern Europe, Viking / Norse culture, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. A fine group of Viking-era bronze bracelets. The first pair of bracelets are crafted from thin hammered sheets of bronze and bent to a desired shape; both banded bracelets have lovely incised and raised linear and abstract designs, and are sized for either a child or a woman. The second pair of bracelets are made from multiple strands of long, thread-like wires wrapped and twined around each other. One braided bracelet has a blue-green patina, indicative of a high tin content in the bronze; the other braided bracelet displays a stunning azurite patina which is indicative of a high copper content. A striking ensemble of stylistically-complementary bracelets! Size (largest banded bracelet): 2.25" W (5.7 cm); size (largest braided bracelet): 2.8" W (7.1 cm).
