North America, Southwest likely Arizona, ca. 1150-1450 CE. This group of four pieces of hohokam pottery includes redware and plainware. Hohokam pottery was similar to the pottery produced in the plains only the clays tended to be of finer quality and were tempered with caliche and finely ground micaceous schist and vegetative material. Largest 3-3/4"T x 6"D. Provenance: Ex-private Scottsdale, AZ Collection acquired on private land in the 1940s. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

  • Condition: One is in fine condition with nice root marks. Two are repaired. The last is a large fragment.
