Description:

Northern Europe, Anglo-Saxon or possibly other Germanic culture, ca. 7th to 9th century CE. A fine gathering of 4 iron components used on horses. A pair of stirrups have wide foot straps and curving bodies, with one still retaining its original upper strap loop. A pair of horse bits are comprised of two interlocking arms threaded with an articulating iron ring. The bit arms with straight bodies are able to be removed from one another, however the interlocked ends of the bit with spiraling arms are fused together. Size of largest (stirrup): 5.1" W x 5.8" H (13 cm x 14.7 cm).
