Near East, Turkey, Anatolia, ca. 2000 to 1700 BCE. Nice grouping of 4 stone cylinder seals. Each seemingly showing Cypriot influence but purely Anatolian in origin. Each with representation of humans and animals with an added glyph here and there. Of the four examples, one is rectangular, one conical, one cylindrical and the final is ovoid. Size: 1-1/4"L for largest, 3/4"L for shortest. Provenance: Ex-private collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures during his tenure.
