Native American, North America, southeastern United States, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee, Late Archaic Period, ca. 3000 to 1000 BCE. A fine collection of knapped stone points and arrowheads from some of the earliest inhabitants of the modern-day United States. The pieces vary in size and shape from oblong and rectangular to triangular and spade-shaped, and exhibit a myriad of red, cream, gray, beige, pink, black, and citrine hues. Included are 28 pieces from the Mississippi counties of Lee, Itawamba, Tishomingo, Pontotoc, Monroe, or Prentice; 3 pieces from the Alabama counties of Franklin or Marion; 1 piece from Savannah, Tennessee; and 1 unmarked. Size of largest (Savannah, Tennessee): 4.75" L x 1.8" W (12.1 cm x 4.6 cm)

Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection; ex-Charles Hester collection, found between 1986 and 1988 with one found in 1936
