Description:

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Valdivian, ca. 1500 BCE. A gathering of 3 terracotta Venus figures, solid-molded and skillfully rendered, each presenting a nude female figure with ample breasts, portly abdomens, a minimalist visage, and incised locks of hair. One partial figure is missing its legs, though the two full figures have delineated legs upon which they symbolically stand. The highly-burnished figures present faded red pigmentation, a characteristic feature of Valdivian Venus figures. Size of largest (full figure): 1" W x 3.2" H (2.5 cm x 8.1 cm).
