Description:

Pre-Columbian, Honduras, Ulua Valley, ca. 700 to 850 CE. A fine gathering of three mold-formed pottery stamp seals in a variety of shapes. First is a discoid stamp with an abstract bird in relief surrounded by a fretted periphery. Second is a cylinder seal with an incised register exhibiting two pairs of abstract avian figures separated by stippled columns. Last is a highly-stylized standing anthropomorphic figure with a skull-form head framed by the cascading folds of an elaborate headdress. Traces of original white pigment are visible across each stamp, and the cylinder has traces of red pigmentation as well. Size of largest (figure): 2.2" W x 2.8" H (5.6 cm x 7.1 cm).
