Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A fine trio of mold-formed terracotta oil lamps with ringed bases, gradually-expanding walls, rounded shoulders, recessed tondos with small fill holes, and rounded wick spouts. One lamp has a tondo filled with ovoid forms and acanthus leaves; another tondo boasts a pair of faded figures; and the last tondo exhibits a faded swan and pouring vessel. Each lamp is covered in vibrant red slip, giving them a signature Roman presentation. Lucite display stands for photography purposes only. Size of each (all are relatively similar): 2.9" W x 1" H (7.4 cm x 2.5 cm).
