Description:

Guerrero, Mexico, Mezcala, Late Preclassic 400-100 BCE. These finely carved, green speckled hardstone beads reveal the hallmarks of Mezcala abstract sculptural style and string-cut technique. One features a trio of mirror-image standing figures on three sides of the bead. Another expertly depicts a crouching hunchback figure. The third reveals a beautiful frontal visage with Olmec-influenced facial features. Each approximately 1-1/2" long. Provenance: Ex Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL: acquired prior to 1970. All items in this auction have been legally acquired, are legal to sell, and guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
