Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, Tarascan culture, ca. 1350 to 1521 CE. A sweet trio of near miniature, bi-chrome pottery vessels, all sitting upon three feet (one with a loop for a handle or as one of its feet) and beautifully decorated with abstract red-on-cream avian creatures adorning the tondos encircled by red bands and registers of red and white stylized geometric motifs. In addition, the rims of the bowls are skillfully cut to create attractive ridges that look like flower petals and are further embellished with painted motifs. Finally, the looped handle/foot of one is decorated with black on red swriling motifs. A precious ensemble from the Chupicuaro culture. Size of largest (bowl with red and white rim): 2.375" W x 1.125" H (6 cm x 2.9 cm)
