Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Olmecoid, ca. 1000-800 BCE. Fine trio of ceramic heads, each one captivating in its own right. Nice representatives of Olmec babies with characteristic downturned mouths, slanted eyes, jowly fleshy cheeks, stylized coiffures or headdresses. These pieces belong to an ancient Mesoamerican tradition that flourished during the first millennium BCE. Nice examples each with a custom, museum-quality stand.
