Starts at $150 - Cambodia, ca. 12th-14th Century CE. A set of 3 Khmer bronze lime pots. Two largest pots have encrustation and surface wear. Smallest pot retains a lovely polish on one side. All three pots were originally separated in the middle with hollow insides, for lime storage, but have seized shut over time. All three pots are cast in an elegant lotus bud shape. Lime was used in the ingestion of the betel nut - a natural drug used to create a mild sense of euphoria. Largest pots measure 4 1/2" T, smallest 3 1/4" T.Provenance: Ex-D.
