Description:

Central Asia, ca. early 20th century CE. First, the tallest on its stand (with the long tail): from northwest Pakistan. A cloth hat with a long tail that hangs behind it. Its face is decorated with a large glass-beaded medallion, white glass bead fringes, and decorative buttons around the forehead. Next, the one with fur trim: from Bhutan, with a distinctive cylindrical form and large ear and back flaps, covered with silk and gilded ribbon, with thick brown fur lining the flaps. Third, an ethnic Chinese hat of characteristic round form with multi-colored silk, thread, and sequins, as well as a small bobble at the top. Size of largest (from Pakistan): 31.5" H (80 cm). Each comes with a custom stand.
