Description:

**First Time At Auction**

East Asia, China, Song Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1279 CE. An impressive ensemble of three wheel-thrown pottery bowls, uniquely featuring natural shell and barnacle embellishments from centuries spent on the ocean floor. Each of these fine vessels is set on a ring-shaped foot with thin walls that spread outwards to a wide, annular rim over a shallow basin. Enveloped in lovely shades of pale sage, these ancient vessels all exhibit gorgeous natural splattering of cream-hued barnacles, seashells, and ocean deposits. One of the bowls, which showcases a gently flared rim, still boasts a light flower motif in its center. Size of largest: 6.875" in diameter x 2.5" H (17.5 cm x 6.4 cm)
