Description:

Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Anamese, ca. 1500 CE. A trio of gorgeous porcelain vessels with blue-on-white floral motifs, each a small, squat vase with a round, flat base. Two have a more matte surface, while the one with the widest mouth has a shinier finish. Between the 14th and 17th centuries, the Annam civilization became the center of extensive ceramic production. Early on, the designs of the Annam ceramics were close to those of Chinese ceramics and porcelain. Later, the Annam civilization developed its own shapes and decorative motifs.
