Pre-Columbian, northern Mexico, Zacatecas (Chalchihuites/Alta Vista/Chichimeca), ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. two ceramic tripod bowls. The larger of the two, painted a beautiful burnished, dark red, with a black buff interior and underside. An incised diamond pattern gives texture to the interior of the bowl. The other bowl presents an equally charming form and aesthetic, with the rim slightly in-curved and a black cross pattern on the interior. The exterior shows vivid abstract decoration in orange, black, and red. Size of largest: 4.3" W x 2.3" H (10.9 cm x 5.8 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Harvey Collection, acquired prior to 1972
