Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Salinar, ca. 100 BCE to 200 CE. A lovely pair of gold nose ornaments comprised of 76% gold (equivalent to 18K+) - both in the form of a crescent, the larger one with impressed circular motifs around the peripheries. Both are very well preserved and their simple yet elegant shapes are quite pleasing to the eye. Two special examples from one of the earliest goldsmithing cultures of Peru. Size: larger ornament measures 1.375" in diameter (3.5 cm); total weight: 2.7 grams

  • Condition: Larger nose ornament displays some indentations and scratches. Smaller one displays some minor scratches. Nice warm patina has developed over time as well.
