Rome, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. The first example in this pair is a piriform conical unguentarium or 'tear bottle' comprised of gorgeous light blue glass with dimpled bottom, classic form with pear-shaped body, long neck, and folded rim. Size: 4-7/8" (12.4 cm).

Rome, ca. late 1st to 3rd century CE. Next, a light blue glass unguentarium with stunning rainbow irridescence and areas of black oxidation, of an exquisite form with its squat base and dramatically elongated body that shows pleasing entasis and folded rim. Size: 4" (10.2 cm). Provenance: Ex-Harmer Rooke Gallery 47 #35 (06/16/92) (tear bottle) and Ex-Wassem Alteir collection (light blue unguentarium).
