Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to early 2nd century CE. An attractive pair of glass cups presenting pale sage-green hues and nice areas of translucency. The vessels each have a planar base with a smooth pontil scar, a cylindrical body, and nice wheel-cut striations decorating the walls. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 3" W x 2.1" H (7.6 cm x 5.3 cm)

Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York
