Pre-Columbian, South Coast of Peru, Nazca, ca. 200 to 500 CE. An attractive set of 2 hand-built pottery jars, each with smooth, stone-burnished surfaces. The larger vessel features 3 registers of repeating curvilinear and circular motifs, perhaps a school of squids or other marine creature, and the smaller vessel depicts a head with red triangles tattooed below the eyes. Size (larger jar): 5.84" W x 4.375" H (14.8 cm x 11.1 cm); (portrait jar): 2.96" W x 1.96" H (7.5 cm x 5 cm)
