Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Mixtec people, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A pair of greenstone amulets, each in the form of a standing anthropomorphic figure with incised features. The eyes, heads, and hands are all exaggerated in size and the eye is immediately drawn to these features. Size of one (they are very similar in size): 0.75" W x 1.9" H (1.9 cm x 4.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-private collection of the late Father Bader, University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas, USA; exhibited in the University of St. Thomas Art Gallery, acquired prior to 2000
