Description:

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Manteno culture, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. A fine set of two hand-carved cylindrical pottery roller seals with tall bodies and flat faces, the taller seal exhibiting a solid body, and the second seal with a suspension hole bored lengthwise through the body. The first cylinder seal depicts a repeating register of minimalist human figures standing side by side both above and below a segmented horizontal band. The taller cylinder seal has a solid body that is incised with an abstract curvilinear motif bisected with a mirrored stepped form. Size of largest (solid body): 2.75" L x 1.2" W (7 cm x 3 cm)
