Near East, Persia / Iran, Kashan, ca. 12th to 14th century CE. A charming pair of bowls, each of conical form with a tall ring base and a turquoise/blue glaze. One has abstract linear decoration in a deeper blue color in a broad ring around the interior. Each has aged to have a beautiful iridescence on the surface. Kashan was a Persian city known for producing high-quality pottery during the medieval period. The town was well-located, near sources of minerals needed to create their distinctive light-colored stone pastes. Size: 5.95" W x 2.7" H (15.1 cm x 6.9 cm)
