Description:

Magna Graecia, South Italic, Daunian, ca. 300 BCE. A pair of near-identical, lovely ceramic kyathoi, or dippers, each with a characteristic horizontal looped handle attached to a shallow bowl with a subtly in-curved rim. Each is painted with concentric circles on its interior and lower body of the exterior. Though many Daunian vessel forms were strongly influenced by the native Italians of this region, the kyathos was a Greek creation. Size: 5.2" W x 1.8" H (13.2 cm x 4.6 cm)
