Description:

Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Ca 800 to 1500 CE. Two fine terracotta vessels, each desirable on their own, but combined makes a super pair! First, typical spider leg jar used for cocoa consumption, each long leg holed and holding small pottery ball, two handles, each with zoomorphic form and series of incised lines. Next is a small bowl with central ridge on which two monkeys stand and peer playfully over the top rim. Spider vessel measures 7-1/2" H x 6-1/2" W. Other vessel is 5" across x 3-5/8" H.
