East Asia, China, late Sui Dynasty to early Tang Dynasty, ca. late 6th to early 7th century CE. A pair of near-identical ceramic figures, two men dressed in distinctive tunics with curved hats, with a pale yellow, smooth glaze over their terracotta bodies. These figures were made to be placed into a tomb and probably represent courtiers, with their well-detailed clothing demonstrates how elite people dressed during this time period. Size: 9.625" H (24.4 cm)
