Description:

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, ca. 3rd to 5th century CE. A lovely ensemble of fifteen mold-made terracotta oil lamps from the Holy Land. Three lamps have tab-shaped handles, fill holes with encircling dot designs, and circular bases. Two lamps have teardrop-shaped bodies, tiny wick spouts, and flat bases. One lamp has a nubbin-shaped handle, wide fill hole, and a flat and spiralized base. One lamp has a saucer-shaped body, no neck channel, and finely-decorated shoulders. The remaining eight lamps have saucer-shaped bodies, decorated neck channels, nubbin-shaped handles, and wide fill holes. A lovely gathering for any discerning collector! Size of largest: 4" L (10.2 cm).
