Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A fine ensemble of 140 circular die-stamped bronze coins from the Roman Empire. Many coins feature portraits of various emperors surrounded by Latin lettering, with some exhibiting deities, some with crustaceans, some with birds, and some with imagery too faded to discern. Fine green and brow patina covers most coins, though some still exhibit their original golden-brown bronze color. Size of largest: 1.1" Diameter (2.8 cm); total weight: 341.9 grams.
