Description:

Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. Fourteen white beads that also serve as stamp seals, approximately half made of grey steatite, the other half of white limestone. All have incised motifs, mainly abstract geometric swirls and linear patterns, although one has been pierced through repeatedly (it may be a button?). One has a really incredible ibex, and the largest depicts a long-bodied, four-legged animal. Used to sign documents and as personal ornamentation. Size: 1.4" W x 1.2" H (3.6 cm x 3 cm)
