Description:

Native American, Southern United States, present-day Louisiana, ca. 15th to 19th century CE. A wonderful collection of 12 knapped stone arrowheads with sharpened edges and tips. The heads were shaped by striking a hard stone to flake or knap into the desired shapes. Two of the arrowheads are long and narrow, while the rest display the classic double fins above the small neck notches. The stones are a nice umber and dark sienna color with some glossy surface areas. Size of largest arrowhead: 1.75" L x .875" W (4.4 cm x 2.2 cm)

Provenance: private Florida, USA collection; ex-private old American collection, found in Louisiana, USA in the early 1900s
