Central Asia, China / Tibet, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A life-sized cast brass skull with an articulating jaw and narrow sockets, reminiscent of the Citipati deities in Himalayan Buddhism. The skeletal Citipati beings protect the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) from forces of dejection and ignorance. Size: 8" L x 5.5" W x 6" H (20.3 cm x 14 cm x 15.2 cm)
