Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, ca. 400 to 600 CE. This is a deep, flared beaker known as a kero (or quero), which would have been used to hold the fermented maize drink chicha, manioc, or potatoes. It has polychrome decorations of severed heads wearing elaborate headdresses, representing trophy heads from warfare. Size: 5.5" W x 6.65" H (14 cm x 16.9 cm)
