Description:

10th - 12th cent. A.D.. Central Asia. An exceptional and LARGE INTACT AND COMPLETE iron lance spear head from the Ghaznavid Empire dating to the Middle Ages. The Ghaznavid Empire is a unique and important part of world history where Eastern and Western influences converged. The dynasty represented an unusual melding of early Arabic Islam and nomadic culture of the Central Asian steppes. Very little of this empire has survived today and despite being once an enormous militaristic dominating force, rarely are ANY artifacts from the culture seen available for acquisition including weapons. 15.5" (39.5 cm) long. This is a RARE opportunity to acquire an exquisitely preserved iron war lance from this Medieval Empire. The blade and shaft body are intact as it was made and with sharp cutting edges and unbroken tip. There are faint traces of an engraved linear design on the blade which is rare for these. You can see beautiful engraved beaded designs and geometric shapes decorating the shaft neck in the photos.
