Roman, late Imperial to early Byzantine Period, ca. 4th to 5th century CE. A sizable Roman marble table top exhibiting expertly carved linear grooves that create a shallow central well. The surfaces are covered with beautiful patina and age-commensurate encrustations throughout, indicating that this table was wonderfully preserved over the last millennia-and-a-half. Size: 45" L x 24" W x 2" H (114.3 cm x 61 cm x 5.1 cm)
