Description:

Eastern Europe, probably Russia, late Medieval to early Renaissance period, ca. 14th to 16th century CE. A square pendant shaped from hammered sheets of copper. The obverse panel is decorated with a radiating sun motif in repousse outlined with thin quadrilateral stripes as well as trios of impressed bulbs in the corners, and the protruding lower tab features an incised chevron with zigzagging interior striations. A riveted suspension loop enables the wearability of this stylish pendant. Size: 1.4" W x 2.25" H (3.6 cm x 5.7 cm)
