Central Asia, Tibet, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A steel dagger blade set within an iron handle wrapped with 90% silver wire. One side of the handle features a floral motif panel in repousse, and the pattern continues down onto the center and end cap of the 92.5% silver sheath. The sheath is inlaid with 3 turquoise stones and 2 coral pieces, each with coloration that stands out gracefully against the lustrous metal. Size: 1" L x 2.1" W x 21.25" H (2.5 cm x 5.3 cm x 54 cm); silver quality: 90% to 92.5%

  • Condition: Damage to areas of sheath along middle panels, with cleanable patina across most surfaces, light oxidation on blade, slight bending to overall form of blade, and minor indentation to handle and sheath, otherwise in great condition. Nice patina throughout. Blade is still relatively sharp.
