Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Pueblo, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A handcrafted drum with a bent wood frame, perhaps cottonwood, and the skin tightly stretched over both faces with sinew lacing encircling the wood. The faces are painted, one with a turtle and the other with a four-pointed star motif. Included is a stick beater with a burlap cloth covering the head. This beater is not original to the drum and probably modern. Size: 13" Diameter x 2" W (33 cm x 5.1 cm)
