Description:

Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A beautiful hide pouch, nearly completely covered in beadwork, hand-sewn using tiny glass seed beads. From the lower edge are tin jingle cones that tinkle pleasantly with the slightest of movement. The bag has a flap with a cord closure and a suspension cord for wearing on a belt. The hide has nice signs of use and may have been used as a strike-a-light bag and personal decoration. Size: 7.25" L x 5" W (18.4 cm x 12.7 cm)

  • Condition: Losses to beading on the verso along the main motifs and green ground. Some fraying and tears to threads, but majority of beading is intact and very good. Patina to the tin cones, and wear leather on interior. Great antique condition.
